Founded in 1980 by Keld Agerskov and Hugo Anthon, Linie Design was built on the vision of blending Danish design innovation with the rich craftsmanship of traditional Indian weaving. Inspired by a groundbreaking 1979 rug exhibition in Copenhagen, which showcased a new wave of weavers redefining what handcrafted rugs could look like, the company set out to create rugs that embraced Nordic minimalism without compromising on artistry or quality. This fresh perspective resonated with Anthon’s business vision, leading to the creation of Linie Design and long-standing collaborations with renowned textile designers like Vibeke Klint, Kim Naver, and Trine Ellitsgaard.
