Lizzie Pannell - Twists & Turns
About The Artist
British-born and now based in New Zealand, Lizzie Pannell is a contemporary artist whose work is rooted in a deep appreciation for natural beauty, emotional nuance, and quiet observation. Her primary focus lies in large-scale floral paintings celebrated for their vibrancy, movement, rich palette, and immersive quality, yet her creative practice extends to architectural studies and bespoke commissions that speak to both place and memory.
Pannell’s paintings have been widely exhibited across New Zealand, including four consecutive years at the NZ Art Show, solo exhibitions in Auckland and Wellington, and a feature display at The Beehive, Parliament. Her work resonates with collectors and art lovers for its bold expression and sense of contemplative joy.
While florals remain central to her visual language, Pannell’s recent work marks a quiet evolution. A new series of still life paintings invites the viewer into a more introspective space, suggesting layered meanings and subtle narratives beneath seemingly everyday objects. These works play with symbolism, negative space, and suggestion, offering a compelling contrast to the exuberance of her floral compositions.
With a practice grounded in both technical skill and emotional depth, Lizzie Pannell continues to explore the balance between beauty and meaning, presence and mystery.

About Our Collaboration
In collaboration with the NZ Art Show, we’re opening our space to artists to showcase their work in a lived-in setting—surrounded by furniture. Because it’s always easier to imagine art in your home when you see it alongside the pieces that make a house feel complete. All profits go to the artist apart from a small admin fee.
